As a result of the tragic shooting on February 14th, the objectives of our event are:
1. Raise national awareness about gun violence.
2. Provide healing locally and nationally, by bringing love, light and hope through the arts.
3. Register people to vote prior to November’s midterm elections (onsite voter registration).
4. Raise funds for these organizations committed to helping ALL of our nation’s youth heal and find their voices to empower positive change:

Shinemsd.org: Founded by MSD drama families. Part of our mission is to create a national curriculum to help communities quickly activate to handle the PTSD and trauma associated with gun violence by using drama, music and visual arts-based therapies. Another part of Shine MSD’s mission is to empower youth to use art as a form of expression to demand change and overcome the impact of gun violence.

Changetheref.org: Founded by parents of one of the victims of the Parkland shooting. Their mission is to raise awareness about mass shootings through strategic interventions that will reduce the influence of the NRA on the Federal level. One of their programs is “Walls of Demand,” which is live art that is installed around the country.
